How I got here
I grew up on a farm in Vermont and started coding at twelve. At fourteen I built a blacksmith shop by hand and ran it as a business for three years. I've always learned best by making something real and working out why it broke.
At Hanover High School, I found out how much further programming could go. CS50 is where I fell in love with programming. The course moves from C through Python, SQL and web programming, so it's a good first look at how much of computer science connects.
After CS50 I asked a Dartmouth professor to let me into this course. It covers building real-time web apps with front-end interfaces and server-side APIs, and it's the point where I knew building software was what I wanted to do.
I'm now a senior studying for a B.S. in Computer Science at Lafayette College, and I expect to graduate in May 2027. I founded Locava, a social app for discovering places, and built it across iOS, Android and web. It grew to more than 10,000 organic users, and I raised a seed round on it. Since then I've shipped base. and RidgeSync, and written shortest-path algorithms from scratch in Rust.
Why tutoring
I put a lot of time into technical interview preparation, and it helped me secure a job as an Agent Solutions Engineer at Bland.ai, starting in June 2027. Going through that made me want to help other people prepare too.
What's finished and what isn't
My degree isn't complete yet. CS 301, CS 303, CS 406 and CS 470 are on my schedule for Spring 2027, and I mark those courses in the Lafayette course guide. A course being listed there means I can help with the material, not that I've taken it. If your question is past what I know, I'll say so.
How I teach
I start from what you already understand and use real examples from software I've built. We work through problems together until you can explain the idea and use it on your own.
